Sometimes, we feel stuck, or lose touch with our personal needs and desires, and don't quite know how to get back on track. There's just so much going on—we've got all the balls in the air—and it feels like all that we can do to keep afloat is to keep launching them out there, and just hope that they don't land on our heads. It can feel very hectic and scary, and lonely.

Thankfully, we've got each other and supportive therapeutic processes to help remind us who we are, to share our stories, strengthen our self-worth, encourage appropriate risk-taking, and allow for necessary self-care and connection. Drama therapy is particularly well suited to getting you back on track and into yourself, because it enables you to explore, express, and get new perspectives on your challenges and frustrations, and also empowers you to actively change self-defeating thought patterns and behaviors, re-imagine parts of your life that aren't working the way that you want them to, and increase your overall sense of spontaneity and playfulness.

Drama therapy
is the skilled and deliberate use of drama and theater processes to achieve therapeutic goals. Unlike traditional talk therapy, drama therapy is more active and experiential. It provides participants with a safe, yet stimulating context in which to explore personal and family stories, set goals, uncover and express feelings, resolve problematic patterns, and achieve the release of long-held emotions. Because drama therapy is both active and reflective, it helps people to better integrate emotional, cognitive, and physical levels of experience. No previous experience with drama or the expressive arts is necessary.
